Birthday Atlas takes a date and assembles a document about it — astronomy, history, prices, arithmetic. Using the site means you accept these terms.
This is the important one. The atlas contains figures drawn from actuarial tables, census data, and market history — life expectancy, retirement savings by age band, what a dollar has done since you were born. These are published population statistics presented for interest. They are not medical, financial, insurance, investment, or legal advice, and they say nothing about you as an individual. Do not make decisions on their basis. Talk to a professional who knows your circumstances.
Astrological content — sun signs, life-path numbers, the old rhyme about the day of the week — is included as folklore and is offered for entertainment.
We take accuracy seriously: figures are researched against primary sources and cited in the book. We still make mistakes, sources disagree, and historical records are imperfect. The atlas is provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy or completeness. If you find an error, please tell us — we would rather know.
The design, illustrations, typography, code, and written text are owned by BirthdayAtlas.com. The underlying facts are not owned by anyone; our arrangement and presentation of them is.
The digital poster is sold as a personal-use file: print as many copies as you like, for yourself or as gifts; do not resell it or the design. Payment is taken by Stripe under their terms. The download link works for ninety days; if it stops working before then, or the file is wrong, write to us and we will send another. Because it is a personalised digital good, made from what you typed, refunds are at our discretion — but if it is our mistake, or you simply are not happy with it, ask, and we will refund it. No questions.
The printed poster is made to order by our print partner, Printful, from the same file, and shipped to the address you give at checkout (United States for now); the price includes shipping, and the digital files come with it. It usually takes two to five business days to make and then ships with tracking. A print that arrives damaged or misprinted is replaced or refunded — write to us within thirty days, with a photo if you can. Because each one is made for you, we cannot take back a print that is simply unwanted, but if we got something wrong, we will make it right.
If we cannot ship your print within thirty days of your order, we will tell you, and you may cancel for a full refund — that is your right under the FTC's mail-order rule, and we would rather state it than make you look it up. The same goes for any delay we announce later: a new date is an offer, and you can always take the money instead.
The site is offered free and may change, break, or go away. We do not promise it will be available, and we may modify or discontinue any part of it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BirthdayAtlas.com is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total liability will not exceed what you have paid us — which, for the free atlas, is nothing.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.
